The Quick Buck

January 5, 2007

I’ve been reading a great book call Multiple Streams of Internet Income, by Robert G. Allen. It’s a great book and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn about making money on the internet. In it, he starts off with a story about how he made an infomercial on how to make $24,000 in 24 hours. That’s just the kind of hook any aspiring internet millionaire is going to bite on when picking up a new book. The internet has revolutionized the demand “get rich quick” info.

What struck me as refreshing, however, is that Allen dispels the idea of getting rich overnight. Even though his program promised that he could make $24,000 in 24 hours, this took months of planning and at least a week of marketing preparation. I won’t give away any more of the book, but it was nice to see someone in the wealth building info business being honest about the time frame in which someone can start making their dream income.

Building my business has been a lot like planting a garden, if you can excuse the corny simile. I’ve planted a variety of seeds, nutured them carefully and watched them take root. Now I’m watching them start to grow, but my work is far from over. I have no doubt that revenues will continue to grow and become easier to build upon, and to get where I really want to be will take some time yet, but the work itself has been relatively easy.

I think what the wealth building info publishers should be promoting isn’t how to “get rich quick”, but how to do it easily.
